Social Relief of Distress SRD R370 Grant Payment Dates for December 2025
The SRD grant is different from all the other SASSA social grants. It was started during the COVID-19 pandemic, and thus, it has its own eligibility criteria and rules.

SASSA Older Persons Grant or Old Age Pension Payment Date for Dec. 2025
The Older Persons grant or Old Age Pension payment for December 2025 is R2,315 for people aged between 60 to 75 years old. And R2,335 for people aged 75 years old or above. The payment date is listed below.
SASSA Disability Grant Payment Date for December 2025
People who are mentally or physically disabled and whose severe disability is a reason that they can not earn then the SASSA Disability grant is for them. They can get R2180 per month and live a better life.

The payment is R560 per month.
SASSA Status Approved But e-KYC Pending
Yes, your SASSA status will be approved but you will not get any payment until you pass your e-KYC on the SASSA SRD portal. SASSA has made it mandatory for all applicants to verify their identities in order to mitigate the risk of fraud.

How SASSA Payment Dates System Work?
Let me explain the SASSA payment dates system to you in simple steps.
Step 1: SASSA collects your application
You submit your ID, phone number, and personal details. SASSA stores your information in its system.
Step 2: SASSA checks your identity
SASSA checks your details with the Department of Home Affairs. SASSA checks your bank records to confirm your identity.
Step 3: SASSA checks your income
The system reads your bank activity. It confirms that your income meets the grant rules.
Step 4: SASSA updates your status
SASSA sets your status to “Pending”, “Approved”, or “Declined”. SASSA moves you to the next step if you qualify.
Step 5: SASSA reviews monthly numbers
Now, SASSA counts all approved applicants. SASSA confirms the total money needed for the month.
Step 6: SASSA assigns payment dates
SASSA sets payment dates for each grant group. Older Persons receive the first date. Disability grants follow. Child Support grants come after that.
Step 7: SASSA confirms SRD payment week
SASSA checks SRD bank verification results. SASSA selects the payout week for SRD after these checks.
Step 8: SASSA sends your payment
SASSA sends the money to your bank or retailer on your date. You collect your grant when your status shows “Paid”.
How to Get SASSA Payment on Payment Disbursement Day?
Here are the steps that I personally take to collect my SASSA grant payment.
Step 1: Check your payment date
You should check your SASSA status before you leave home. Also, confirm that your payment date shows “Paid” or the system shows a clear disbursement day.
Step 2: Plan your visit wisely
I recommend that you do not visit the cashpoint on the first day. The first day brings a heavy rush. You wait for one extra day and visit the center the day after your payment date. This step saves your time and keeps you safe in long lines.
Step 3: Bring your ID and phone
Do not forget to take your original ID with you. You also take the phone number that you used in your SASSA application. These two items help you complete your verification.
Step 4: Visit the nearest SASSA cash point
Go to the nearest SASSA cash point, retailer, or pay center. You follow the queue and wait for your turn.
Step 5: Complete biometric verification
Place your finger on the biometric device. The system confirms your identity.
Step 6: Collect your payment
You will receive your money after your verification is successful. You count your cash and keep it safe.
