SASSA Reapplication For SRD R370 Payment
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has been given R294 billion by the Department of Social Development. Minister Nokuzola Sisisi Tolashe shared the 2025/26 budget details in the National Assembly. Out of this, R59.6 billion, which is 20.27% of the total budget, is set aside for the SRD R370 grant.
SASSA takes grant payments very seriously. That is why they have a reapplication process in place. This step is required for everyone who is already receiving the SRD R370 grant.
Every beneficiary must complete the SASSA reapplication process every 90 days. This ensures that only eligible people continue to receive the grant. Here’s a simple guide to help you with the SASSA reapplication process.
What is the SASSA Reapplication?
The SASSA reapplication is something all SRD R370 grant recipients must do every 90 days. It helps SASSA confirm that you are still eligible for the grant.
This step is important. SASSA wants to make sure the money goes to those who really need it. If your situation hasn’t changed, you are still unemployed or without income, you still need to reapply to show this.
Reapplying doesn’t mean you are applying for the grant again. It’s just a way to verify that you still qualify for the R370 payment. If you skip this step, SASSA could stop your grant.
So, if you get the SRD R370 grant, remember to reapply every three months to keep receiving your support.
How to Apply for SASSA Reapplication for SRD R370 Grant?
To complete the reapplication, you need to go to the official SRD portal. Don’t worry, I’ll walk you through the whole process.
Follow this simple step-by-step guide:.
1) Check Your SRD Status
Get a device, like a phone, tablet, or computer, to check your SRD R370 application status. Once you check, you’ll know if you need to reapply or not. Make sure your status is confirmed before moving to the next step.
2) Go to srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconfirmation/auth Website
On the SRD portal, look for the “Reconfirmation” option. This is where you start your reapplication. Click it, and you’ll go to a page where you need to enter your South African ID number and your phone number.
3) Fill Out the Reconfirmation Application Form
After moving to the next page, you’ll see the reconfirmation form. Fill it out with these details:
- Your full legal name
- Your South African ID number
- Your current Cell number

After filling out these details, you will see the option of choosing the months for the reconfirmation. You can choose the latest months.
How to Check SASSA Reconfirmation Status Online?
Checking your SASSA reconfirmation status online works much like checking your regular SASSA status check. Go to our homepage, enter your South African ID number and phone number, and you’ll see your reconfirmation status.
The possible statuses are:
- Reapplication Pending: Your reapplication is still being processed.
- Reapplication Approved: Your reapplication was successful, and you will continue receiving the grant.
- Reconfirmation Declined: Your reapplication was not approved, and SASSA may stop your grant.
What to Do If the Reconfirmation Application Shows Failed or Declined?
If your reapplication is declined or unsuccessful, you can appeal for reconsideration. This is done through the Department of Social Development’s Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).

Why is Reapplication Necessary for SASSA?
Reapplication is an important step for the SASSA SRD R370 grant. It makes sure the money goes only to people who really need it. SASSA wants to support those who are genuinely in need. Many people receive this grant, but situations can change. Some may find work, earn other income, or no longer meet the requirements.
By requiring reapplication every 90 days, SASSA checks if you still qualify. If you are still unemployed or without other support, you will keep getting the R370 payment. But if your financial situation has changed, SASSA may stop the grant.
This process also helps prevent fraud. Occasionally, people try to get the grant even when they don’t qualify. Reapplying ensures the money goes to the right people.
Reapplication isn’t a new application. It’s a way to confirm you still meet the rules. If you skip it, SASSA may stop your grant. That’s why it’s essential for all beneficiaries to reapply every three months to continue receiving support.
